Glaucoma Surgery Course

The glaucoma surgery course at the Kabgayi Learning and Simulation Centre (KLASc) provides targeted, hands-on training for ophthalmologists seeking to strengthen their skills in the surgical management of glaucoma. Designed for both early-career surgeons and experienced clinicians wishing to update their techniques, the course blends simulation-based learning with expert-led instruction to ensure safe and effective practice.

Participants gain practical experience in key glaucoma procedures-focusing on trabeculectomy, non-penetrating surgeries, and management of intraoperative challenges.

Through step-by-step guided practice, trainees learn proper tissue handling, safe dissection, scleral flap construction, and postoperative management strategies essential for long-term surgical success.

By the end of the program, participants are equipped with the surgical confidence and technical competence needed to manage glaucoma effectively-especially in settings where surgical intervention plays a vital role in preventing vision loss.
