Background
Kabgayi Eye Unit welcomes you all to its official website. The Kabgayi Eye Unit is located in Muhanga district which is one of the districts of the southern province of Rwanda. The Kabgayi Eye Unit is a department of the Kabgayi General Hospital in the Catholic Diocese of Kabgayi. This department was initiated in 1993 in collaboration with CBM and the ministry of health in Rwanda (Minisante). In 2012, KEU was designated as a referral center by the ministry of Health due to its excellence and influence in eye care throughout the country.

OBJECTIVES
Enhance patients experience at Kabgayi Eye Unit
Train more Ophthalmologists coming from different backgrounds and countries.
Create more partnerships with district and teaching hospitals
Raise public awareness about clear simple practices to be adopted early in order to prevent for avoidable blindness.
VISION
To become the best training center of ophthalmology in the region, providing high quality eye care services to our patients.
MISSION
To put an end to avoidable blindness by providing high quality eye care services to our patients either in big cities or rural areas through outreaches; training ophthalmic clinical officers as well ophthalmologists and forming strong partnerships with various stakeholders who are leaders in the ophthalmic field as well.
