Anterior Vitrectomy Course

The Anterior vitrectomy course at the Kabgayi Learning and Simulation Centre (KLASc) is a focused, skills-based training program designed to equip ophthalmologists with the essential techniques required to safely perform anterior vitrectomy during complicated anterior segment surgeries.

Using a structured, simulation-guided approach, the course teaches participants how to manage vitreous loss-one of the most challenging complications encountered during cataract surgery. Trainees learn safe instrument handling, correct vitrectomy settings, and proper surgical steps to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

The course emphasizes practical, hands-on learning, allowing participants to build confidence and technical precision before transitioning to real surgical environments.

By completing this course, trainees gain the skills needed to recognize, manage, and repair intraoperative complications effectively-strengthening their competence in both routine and complex cataract surgery.
